Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Jun 20: Dharmasthala police arrested three people based on the complaint filed by the conductor of KSRTC bus that was waylaid on Charmadi and manhandling of driver and conductor of the bus.

Mohammed Shabir (21), Mohammed Maharoof (22) and Mohammed Mubasheer (23), are the accused arrested by the police. They are residents of Charmadi village.

On Saturday evening, students studying in Ujire and residing at Charmady had boarded the bus of Moodigere depot at Ujire. Conductor Shivakumar asked around 10 students who were hanging on the door of the bus to either go inside or board the next bus. The students abused the conductor saying that the bus does not belong to his father. In the verbal duel that ensued, more than 20 students threatened the conductor.

Later when the bus reached Charmadi at around 6 pm, a group of men stopped the bus on main road and created ruckus with the other passengers as well as the driver and conductor of the bus.

I feel the Bus conductor here is right Traveling on footboard is dangerous and may lead to accidents The students who abused the conductor does not deserve any sympathy No one can abuse a employee like this strict action by means of arrest and punishment's must be undertaken as early as possible

In such a situation, the conductor should have asked the driver to suspend the bus till the students entered or left the bus. Passengers too should have supported the conductor. By this common sense would prevail. Still if there was no progress, they should have called the police.

If they fall then their parents would blame the conductor and the driver. I support the conductor in this.
