Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 20: People of Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi faced server issue and internet problems on the second day of registration for Gruha Jyothi scheme, free electricity guarantee of the new Congress government.
In Mangaluru, though the registration process went slowly in the morning and evening, during afternoon it stalled completely due to server issue. All the centres of Mangalore One, Grama One, counters opened at Mescom offices and the Indira service counters opened by the Congress faced server issues. People were asked to come on June 20 after obtaining their mobile numbers.

Till Monday evening, 21160 applications were received in the four districts under Mescom limits. In Dakshina Kannada, 3534, In Udupi 5800, in Shivamogga 6407 and in Chikkamagaluru 5427 applications were received.
In Udupi, registration is going on in 191 Grama One centres. Till afternoon, the process went on well. But after that, the process was very slow due to server issue.
In Bantwal, Mescom linemen are asked to encourage people to apply for Gruha Jyothi sche from their houses itself to avoid rush at Grama One centres.
In Kundapur and Byndoor, people from the rural areas had left their daily work and went to Grama One centres but had to go back as the server was not working.
In Beltangady, though there are 36 Grama One centres, only one or two applications were processed throughout the day due to network and server issues.
In Puttur and Sullia, many people returned home due to server issue.
In Karkala too, the public faced the server issue. Only few applications were processed at some Grama One centres.
