New Delhi, Jul 21 (IANS): The Delhi High Court Thursday granted bail to suspended Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Ravi Inder Singh, accused of passing official information from the home ministry to unauthorised people.
Justice Mukta Gupta granted bail to him after going through the status report of Delhi Police which stated that he was not the main accused in the case.
Taking cognizance of the police report, the court granted bail to Ravi Inder Singh, who was arrested Nov 23 last year. A charge sheet was filed Jan 23.
Police said that instead of government accommodation, the suspended official had chosen to stay in a private guest house and the monthly rent of Rs.50,000 was being paid by a middleman working on behalf of a telecom company.
The middleman obliged Ravi Inder Singh as he wanted in return information about security clearance of a file relating to Britain-based firm Telcordia Technologies Inc, police said.
