Udupi: Value added course on entrepreneurship held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Jun 21: The Institution's Innovation Council in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of SMVITM organized value added course on entrepreneurship from June 19-23.

Dr B Rajashekar, dean and professor of Manipal College of Health profession by lighting the lamp inaugurate the programme on June 19, in the institute premises.

In his address, Dr B Rajashekar offered a lot of motivation and inspiration for students to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours. He also mentioned essential characteristics required for the entrepreneurs, like discipline, vision, adaptability, creativity, communication and idea generation etc. He concluded his speech by giving tips on entrepreneurship and also quoted that skill and hard work makes the entrepreneur successful in his career. 

The guest of honour Ratna Kumar, secretary of SSVMET, Udupi addressed the gathering and mentioned about institution’s aim in producing entrepreneurs and the future plans for the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at SMVITM to assist students in becoming entrepreneurs.

Prof Dr Thirumaleshwar Bhat, principal of SMVITM, briefed students about the programme and the importance of value-added courses on entrepreneurship. Also, he mentioned that the institution will start an incubation centre on its campus.

Sahana Karanth, senior assistant professor in the department of CSE welcomed the gathering. The programme begins with an invocation by Darshanraj and is compered by Clinton. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Arun Upadhyaya, coordinator of the Institution's Innovation Council. All the coordinators of the Institution's Innovation Council, dean, HODs, and participants were present.
