Dubai, Jun 21: The much awaited cultural extravaganza, ‘Kala Saanz’ is ready to set the stage on fire. The event is set to showcase Konkani comedy play by Pradeep Barboza Paladka and live musical performance by Loyson Corda. The event will be held at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High-School, Dubai on Saturday September 23 organized by USWAS-Shirva in association with Precious Parties & Entertainment.
USWAS-Shirva, a group of dedicated members, belong to the parish of Our Lady of Health Church Shirva. The group is one of the most vibrant and well established associations among the parishes of Udupi diocese. This association has been consistently rendering a constant service in various fields for the past 21 years. USWAS is a non-profit association, abides and drives its spirit with the motto ‘Lend a hand not for self, but for each other’.
Driven by its motto, USWAS extends unconditional service to promote the well-being of Shirvites, Shirva parish and society, uplift Konkani language and culture, education of financially backward children, supports alma matter, medical aid, house construction, marriages of economically backward families and many other purposes.
USWAS Shirva unveils ‘Kala Saanz’
USWAS Shirva held a teaser and ticket release event at Winny’s Restaurant, Karama on June 16 under the leadership of Lesly Saldanha.
The programme was compered by Roshan Menezes.
The programme commenced with a prayer by Hezel Saldanha along with a hymn to patron Saud Mai by the USWAS committee. USWAS president Lesly Saldanha welcomed the patrons, well-wishers and artistes and Lavina Menezes presented a report on USWAS’ activities, milestones and upcoming events.
‘Kala Saanz’ event teaser release
Kala Saanz was announced by launching a teaser by patrons Joseph Mathias (MD Merit Freight Systems Co LLC), James Mendonca (MD-Reliable Fabricators LLC) and Ivan Nancy Quadros (Lumen Group of Companies) along with USWAS president Lesly Saldanha and USWAS secretary Lavina Menezes. The celebration started off with a cake cutting ceremony.
Joseph Mathias briefly introduced about ‘Kala Saanz’ and requested everyone to support and make the event a full house. He also appreciated USWAS’ committee members for their service towards uplifting and supporting Konkani artistes along with their main goal of helping the needy people for various other causes.
Ivan Quadros (Lumen Group of Companies) along with Pradeep Barboza Paladka released the teaser of Konkani comedy play ‘Yenna Zalyaar Vachana’. It is a brand new comedy play to be performed by 'Konkani Comedy Prince' Pradeep Barboza Paladka along with Sangon Mugdana Kalakaar.
James Mendonca (MD-Reliable Fabricators LLC) along with Loyson Corda released the teaser of Loyson Corda who will perform electrifying live music in the event. Loyson Corda a promising young, talented sensational singer hailing from Shiva will create waves in heart and electrify everyone’s senses.
‘Kala Saanz’ event ticket release
The tickets of Kala Saanz were released by Irwin and Edlyn Saldanha (Delmon Group of companies) Joseph Mathias (MD Merit Freight Systems Co LLC), James Mendonca (MD-Reliable Fabricators LLC), Ivan Nancy Quadras (Lumen Group of Companies), Vincent and Pramila Barboza, Jeevan Vaz (SMKC Coordinator).
USWAS also congratulated and presented a memento to Joseph Mathias (MD Merit Freight Systems Co LLC) on the occasion of completion of 25 years of services Merit Freight Systems.
USWAS proudly felicitated Alastair Quadras, son of Ivan and Nancy Quadros (Lumen Group of Companies) for outstanding performance in academic achievement.
The event was signed off with a vote of thanks rendered by cultural secretary Sandeep Saldanha along with presentation of roses of honor to all patrons, well-wishers and supporters.
A lavish buffet was served on the occasion.
