Beltangady: Student dies on his birthday in bus-bike collision

Beltangady, Jun 22: In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred near Mogeradka Cross of Gardady village between KSRTC bus and a bike, Deekshith (19), student, native of Periyadka Kasargod died on the spot on Wednesday June 21. In fact, it was Deekshit’s birthday and he was returning after offering pooja at the temple.

Deekshit went early in the morning to Venoor temple as it was his birthday. The KSRTC bus hit the bike head-on in a bid to overtake a truck. Deekshith, who received severe injuries to his head was rushed to Beltangady government hospital but he succumbed on the way.

Beltangady police have registered a case against the KSRTC driver.

Deekshit was residing at his grandfather’s house at Odeel and was pursuing his second year ITI at SDM College in Venoor. He was a good sportsman with expertise in Kabaddi and Kambala sports.

Deekshit is survived by parents and brother.
