Udupi: International Yoga Day celebrated at ECR Group of Institute

Udupi, Jun 22: With the theme of 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam', ECR Group of Institute celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21.

Vikram Dev Prabhu, principal ECR Institute of Management Studies, stated the importance of yoga and said, “Yoga relives insomnia, and also helps in managing mental stress. One can gain energy only with equal amount of rest. Oxygen is must for the circulation of blood, only if the lungs work properly then only the blood can be circulated to each and every part of the body. Yoga helps a lot, so one should meditate and do yoga for at least one hour in a day, and then he can be healthy and energetic."

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by dignitaries. The programme began with the prayer song by Prathiksha and team as blessing for the beginning of the programme.

Madhu T Bhaskar, president of the event, in his words mentioned the importance of yoga.

Prof Nataraj K, principal of Canara College of Nursing in his speech briefed about the importance of yoga and how it helps in keeping one healthy.

Sneha Joyis addressing the gathering spoke about the importance of yoga.

Jessina welcomed the gathering. Meghana and Prathiksha demonstrated yoga. Namratha gave vote of thanks. Bharathi and Bhagyashree, programme officers of yoga association of college, and Kusumavathi, program officer of youth Red Cross cell, organized the programme.

Prof Sujatha L Borker, principal Sowkhya College, and advocate Pradeep Nayar, legal counsel, were present.
