Dammam: Most awaited MASA Sports Day held

Dammam, Jun 22: Members were eagerly waiting for the MASA Sports Day on June 16, as the event did not take place since COVID pandemic started. Every member and guest participated in the sports event and thoroughly enjoyed the fun filled evening. Members categorized by four houses assembled at Dammam 91 Farm House ground. Sports committee head, Ameer Hussain welcomed the gathering and announced the various individual games for different age group and also about group games.

President Gopal Shetty, greeted all members and wished them good luck and encouraged them to participate play with sportsmam spirit. Advisory committee member Ravi Karkera addressed the gathering and conducted a warm up round before start of the event. The event kick-started in the presence of excom members Puttaraju (general secretary), Niranjan Karkera (assessment committee head), Roopesh Suvarna (treasurer), Ganesh Karkera (entertainment committee head), Balakrishna Shetty (deputy sports committee head), Roshan Kotian (deputy entertainment committee head), Ajith Kumar, Abdul Khader Baikampady, and Vishwanath Suvarna. Among the advisory committee, Narendra Shetty, Sadashiv Poojary and Naveen Bhandary were also present.

Three organizing teams were allotted with number of games to conduct for different age groups. The organizing teams fully got engaged in conducting the games one after the another successfully without any hustles. Thank to volunteers and participating members for their sporting spirit.

Winners were called to victory stand at the end of each sporting event and awarded the medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Tough competitions took place between each house to grab maximum points.

The calm and peaceful weather brought excitement and thrill among the young and old participating members all throughout the evening. The games were organized very professionally by the event organizing teams led by sports committee head Ameer Hussain.

Delicious evening snacks and dinner were served during the event supplied by Garnish Restaurant.

At the concluding ceremony, house championship trophy was awarded to Red House for maximum points. First runner’s up championship was bagged by Green House while second runner’s up spot went to Blue House.

The champion in the male category was Ajith Kumar from Red House. The champion in the female category was shared by Afsa Nooman and Maitry Shetty.

General secretary, Puttaraju presented vote of thanks and thanked each and every one for the wonderful support from the members and appreciated all sponsors for their generous support. President, Gopal Shetty in his concluding remarks announced about the upcoming MASA events and thanked all members for their support. The sports events concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
