Mangaluru: Driver gets sandwiched between two lorries at Talapady toll gate, dies

Mangaluru, June 23: A lorry driver got stuck in between two container lorries near Talapady toll gate on NH 66 and died late in the night on Thursday, June 22.

The tragic victim of the incident was Haryana-based Shameem (38). Two drivers related to each other were carrying goods to Kerala in container lorries belonging to the same organisation.

Driver Shameem had stopped his lorry near Talapady toll to drink tea. Meanwhile, another driver related to Shameem stopped his lorry in front of the one that was driven by Shameem.

When Shameem was standing in front of the lorry stopped by him, the lorry that was stopped in the front moved in the reverse direction. Shameem who was stuck in between the two lorries was seriously injured.

Though he was rushed to the private hospital at Deralakatte, he died without responding to treatment due to critical injuries inside his organs.

It is said that both the lorries are owned by the brother of a senior CBI officer.
