Kundapur, Jun 24: “After the new government is formed, the state treasury is locked. All officers are saying that they can release grants only after the supplementary budget is presented next month,” accused MP B Y Raghavendra.
Speaking to reporters at Hemmady on Friday, Raghavendra said, “Contractors who have already completed works are under panic whether their bills will be paid on time or not.
“Every year Maravanthe gets affected from sea erosion during monsoon. The then CM Yediyurappa had kept aside Rs 82 crore grant for building retaining wall. Accordingly, the tender is already processed. However, the work is delayed due to finalization of CRZ area. I will discuss with government and concerned minister in this regard and take necessary action,” he said.
Raghavendra said that he will try to get Rs four crore temporary measure relief of Gangolli port jetty issue. He also said that local MLA and he have personally discussed the matter with ports and fisheries minister.
