Bantwal, Jun 24: A cobra, which had swallowed a plastic box containing lime stone powder, was left in a reserved forest after removal of the box through surgery and care of 15 days.
Snake expert Kiran and Veterinary doctor Dr Yashashwi Naravi and forest department took part in the operation.
A cobra, which had entered a hole near the house of Vasanti, vice president of Kavalapadoor gram panchayat, was finding it difficult to come out of the hole. The house inmates, who were observing the snake for three days, informed the matter to snake expert Kiran, who removed the cobra from the hole and gave it first aid for three days.
Later, he took the snake to Dr Yashashwi Naravi as the snake had injuries on the head and its skin was broken. The doctor treated the wounds and took x-ray to observe the bloated stomach of the cobra. Surprisingly, a plastic box containing lime stone mixture was found. The same was removed through surgery. Post-surgery, the snake was taken care for 15 days and was left in the reserve forest.
