Mumbai, Jul 23 (IANS): Godrej Consumers Products Ltd (GCPL) Saturday reported 94.25 percent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs.239.29 crore for the quarter ended June 30 as against Rs.123.19 crore during the period in the previous year.
Gross sales stood at Rs.1,020.2 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs.731.48 crore during the corresponding period, the company said in a regulatory filing.
"Enhanced penetration and improved volumes have driven our sales growth. We are emphasising innovations and backing them with investments. Our international operations have also performed strongly during the period under review," said Adi Godrej, chairman, GCPL.
The company also declared an interim dividend of Rs.1 per share.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company were up 2.24 percent to trade at Rs.453.35.
