Kundapur, Jun 24: The 1.5 km stretch of Barekattu road of Ranganahitlu vicinity of church road ward under the limits of town municipality is still not developed. The road is still mud road without asphalting. Public allege that the town municipality has completely ignored the last part of the road.
There are more than 30 houses that have access to their home through this road. The area is also developing very fast. Many houses are under construction also. However, the fundamental infrastructure of road is still not asphalted.
During monsoon it is not possible to move on this road. As this is low lying area, the whole stretch becomes a ‘kambala’ field. The plight of two wheeler riders is pathetic. Students going to school also walk with great difficulty on this road. Auto-rickshaw also does not come on this road during monsoon.
As a stop gap arrangement public put broken pieces of tiles or stones to walk on them. The locals allege that the concerned authorities do not even put wet mix during monsoon.
Locals say that the people representatives arrive only during election time and then disappear. This is a very old road of the city and it is irony that it is neglected for decades by the administration.
