Mangalore, May 13: Susheg Jivith, a 40-bed Dementia Care facility situated at Manjankatte, Kompadavu near Ferrar, was officially opened under the auspices of Susheg Charitable Trust.
The inauguration ceremony took place on May 13 and was graced by D. Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese. The event commenced with an Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Bishop, accompanied by Fr Valerian D'Souza, Fr Sunil Viegas of St Antony's Shrine, Kerekatte, and Fr Melwyn Pinto, SJ, rector of St Aloysius institutions.
Following the ceremony, a brief felicitation program was held to express gratitude to all the benefactors. The managing trustee, Gerry Pinto, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. In his presidential address, Bishop Dr Saldanha emphasized the importance of caring for individuals facing debilitating conditions like dementia. He commended the Trustees for their unwavering dedication despite facing obstacles.
Loretta Pinto proposed a vote of thanks, and Judith D'Silva served as the program's compere. The event concluded with a fellowship meal, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the attendees.
