14 held for impersonating candidates at UPSSSC exams

Lucknow, Jun 28 (IANS): The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) have arrested 14 people linked to a solver gang from exam centres for recruitment of Gram Panchayat Officer (VPO), Gram Vikas Adhikari (VDO), and Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak.

In a replay of the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Munna Bhai MBBS, one of the impersonators of a candidate was found using a Bluetooth-enabled hearing device. The STF personnel had to use a pair of tweezers to dig it out of the person's auditory canal.

The examination for the positions of Gram Panchayat Officer, Gram Vikas Adhikari, and Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak was being conducted in four shifts at 737 examination centres across 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Fourteen people, including seven individuals linked to the solver gang from Lakhnaur, Gomti Nagar Extension, and Bareilly were nabbed in raids by the UP STF.

According to officials, these solvers took hefty sums for impersonating candidates and appearing in their places in the aforementioned recruitment exams. The arrests were made amid the ongoing examination for recruitment at several posts of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC).
