Moodbidri, Jun 28: K. Abhaya Kumar, senior assistant professor of the PG Department of Management Studies at Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE), Moodbidri has been awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, for his thesis titled – 'Application of Commodity and Currency Futures for Hedging Price Risk in Select Agricultural Commodities in Dakshina Kannada District'.

Abhaya Kumar has been successfully guided by Dr Prakash Pinto, professor and dean, department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru.
