Udupi: Youths capture, hand over two burglars who stole offertory box in Shirva

Udupi, Jun 28: A group of youths from Panjimar apprehended and handed over to the police two alleged thieves who had stolen an offertory box from the Panjimar Falke Vyagra Chamundi temple located on the Katpady-Shirva main road this morning.

The two unidentified accused were attempting to break open the offertory box in a nearby forest.

Upon hearing the commotion, villagers in the area alerted the youths from Panjimar. One of the suspects tried to escape by boarding a bus when the youths arrived, but they pursued and forced him to disembark at Bantakal. He was then brought back by the youths. The other accused, who was hiding in the forest, was also apprehended and handed over to the police.

The Shirva station police are currently conducting investigations into the matter.
