Mangaluru, Jun 29: “Bakrid festival proclaims message of harmony. Along with celebrating this festival, we need to grow brotherhood. A good society needs to be created by sharing culture and harmony with one another,” said U T Khader, local MLA and speaker of Karnataka legislative assembly.
Khader spoke to the media after offering Namaz at Ullal Darga on account of Bakrid festival.
Haneef Hajee, president of Darga said, “Bakrid is the festival in which we recall the happenings occurred during the time Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Let this festival bring peace to all. Muslim community follows the ideals of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail. Let the violence in Manipur get over due to their blessings and peace prevail everywhere.”
The Kutbah was led by Khateeb Ibrahim Sa Adi Nawaz of Ullal central juma mosque.
Dargah president Haneef Hajee, chief secretary Mohammed Shihabuddin Sakafi, treasurer Nazeem Rehman Mukkacheri, committee members Zainaka Melangadi and Tanzeel Mukkacheri were present.
