Udupi, Jun 29: A man slipped and fell into a storm water drain from a foot over bridge at Matadabettu and died here.
The deceased was Sathijur (33), a resident of Bijur. He was employed in a prestigious hotel in Udupi and was missing since Wednesday evening. His lifeless body was found in the drain this afternoon. It is said that he had married two years ago and has a child.
Diving expert Ishwar Malpe retrieved the dead body. Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu helped to shift the mortal remains to the district hospital.
SP Hakay Akshay Machindra and ASP Siddalingappa visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
A case in this connection is registered at Udupi city police station.
