No one should try to take advantage of violence: Assam CM on Rahul’s Manipur visit

New Delhi, Jun 30 (IANS): Reacting to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit to violence-hit Manipur, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that politicians should not try to take advantage when a state is going through a disturbed situation.

Speaking to reporters here, Sarma said, “Both the Central and state governments have been taking the necessary steps for restoring peace in Manipur.”

According to Sarma, there is no need for any other political persons to go to Manipur because only the state government and the Centre can restore peace in the state.

“Others will go and return within a day or two. No solution will come from their visits. It will only serve the purpose of grabbing media attention,” he said.

Sarma also said that during his two-day visit to Manipur, Rahul Gandhi can't do anything apart from doing some photo-op.

“No political party or person should try to take advantage of a violence-hit state,” he said.

Dear CM of Assam, being a neighboring state and hope you have visited twice, what you have done over there, violence has caused widespread loss of life and property. Ruling party has to do something, apart from this, why you do dry comments on others, now a days you interfere a lot in too far states, instead you can help your neighboring state and bring the violence down. we shall pray for the deceased citizens of India and hope violence will get settled

Violence has caused widespread loss of life and property. No one from the ruling party is ready to give the healing touch. This Himanta Biswa Sharma is one of the culprit for the loss of innocent blood of the simple tribal people in the hill state. Sitting in is cozy AC office he is lecturing Rahul Gandhi who has taken the bold step to visit suffering Manipur people.
