Bommai didn’t keep the promise of job, Siddaramaiah appoints immediately

Bengaluru, Jun 30: A helpless acid attack victim, MCom educated lady, who had suffered acid attack on April 28, 2022, and was promised a job by previous BJP Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai during his Janata Darshan but was left high and dry, was immediately granted a job in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s office on contract basis.

The acid attack victim appeared in the Chief Minister’s Janata Darshan on Friday along with her parents and pleaded her helplessness as she had to look after herself and the parents without any source of income.

Moved by the acid attack victim’s plight of being promised a job by Bommai, which was not kept, Siddaramaiah directed the officials to immediately appoint her on contract basis in his secretariat.

The culprit had approached the lady by posing as Swami and escaped to take shelter in Thiruvannamalai Ashram. The police had registered a case in the Kamakshipalya police station and had gone to the Ashram posing as devotees and arrested him. The culprit is now in Bengaluru jail.

The acid attack victim is recovering. She was offered cash from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The identity of the woman and her pictures are not shared to protect her privacy, the chief minister’s office said.
