Mangalore: DC Gives Instructions to Organize Spectacular 'Karavali Utsav - 2011'

Mangalore, Jul 26: Deputy commissioner Dr N S Chennappa Gowda instructed the department officials to make all preliminary arrangements for organizing the ‘Karavali Utsav’ in December this year to ensure mass appeal and extravagance.

Dr Gowda was addressing the department officers during a preliminary meeting about organizing the Karavali Utsav.

He advised the department officials to give ample opportunities to the locals in staging the cultural programmes during Karavali Utsav and also organize performances by renowned artistes.  Dr Gowda also informed them to make all arrangements to get much patronage from the people for this year’s Karavali Utsav.

Dr Gowda urged the department officials provide top quality stalls and exhibits in order to attract a large crowd during the event. He also consented to organizing cultural programmes at Kadri Gardens.

"Karavali Utsav – 2010 was conducted at an expenditure of Rs 44,46,363 and Rs 10 lac for ‘Beach Utsav’.  The collections were Rs 60,91,000,” said Dr Gowda about income and expenditure accounts.

    year after year, the show comeS and goes. donno how it has sustained all these years. all shops and stalls are repeated. some even get the same area continuously:)some selling carpets to dry fruits to junk food like pani puri and junkyard games with rickety machines. organisers please visit other places like bangalore/mysore/chennai to get a better idea.
