Mangaluru, Jul 6: Assistant Commissioner Raju K has announced that the district administration has identified 22 disaster management centres in Ullal taluk to provide all kinds of assistance to the flood victims if necessary.
He said nodal officers have been appointed to oversee the precautionary measures to be taken to prevent rain related woes at the village and town panchayat levels.
Presiding over a meeting of various department officials at the Konaje GP he said already nodal officers had been named at the GP, CMC, TMC levels to tackle the rain fury. He said it is necessary for the officers to assess and also apprise the damages caused due to the rainfall both to property and lives besides providing for emergency relief with the co-operation of various department officials.
Raju K also directed officials of Mescom, forest department, public works department and revenue department to work round the clock to address public grievances.
Mangaluru South ACP Dhanya Nayak said the police department is available at beck and call during all occasions adding that if there are any issues they could be brought to the notice of the beat policemen.
Tahsildar Prabhakar Kharjure was also present.
