Kaikini, professor, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, were present..

The MSNIM Research Centre will guide research scholars doing PhDs under Mangalore University. It will conduct classes for these scholars on the various academic research subjects and the tools used in research. It is equipped with good reference materials and e-resources for conducting research in management and other multidisciplinary areas.

In his inaugural address, Dr Manjappa Sarathy spoke about the role of research and innovation in academic institutions. "Interdisciplinary research is essential to ease people's lives. The benefits can reach people only when scientists and managers work together. A scientist can show us how to generate energy using hydropower, but it is the management people who can effectively manage and distribute it to the consumers," he said.

"The Government of Karnataka has decided to support 10,000 start-ups with up to Rs 25 to 30 lac in funding each. Incubation centres have to be set up at every institute. There are different schemes available for research, like mini projects and minor projects, which are funded by organisations like AICTE and UGC," he informed.

The inauguration of the research centre was followed by an Experiential Workshop on Structural Equation Modeling using SmartPLS Software. Dr Shilpi Saha, assistant professor of the Institute, was the resource person for the workshop. 45 academicians, including faculty members, research scholars, and MBA students from various institutions, attended the workshop.

Dr Shilpi Saha welcomed the gathering. Shashwath rendered the invocation. Dr Deepa V, associate professor, gave a vote of thanks. Shruthi Shetty compered the programme.
