Mangaluru, Jul 13: “While allotting the tender, proper time will be given to the contractors to finish the work, as per the condition of the tender. The tender will be allocated considering all the aspects, considering the changes in weather. Hence, we cannot accept the delay of work due to the rainy season. This is the last warning,” said zilla panchayat CEO Dr Anand.

He was speaking during the review meeting for the effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission on Thursday July 13.

He also cautioned the officers not to take any project in a lighter way.

He expressed displeasure against the officials as they claimed that the delay in the completion of 36 works under Jal Jeevan Mission was due to land disputes and rain.

“While allotting the tender, the problem of the rainy season will be clearly mentioned under the tender conditions. Time will be given to complete the work,” he said.

“If there is any problem in connecting pipelines and construction of overhead tanks, it should be informed on time. This problem may persist for two months. But, it will not be delayed for 200 to 300 days. The officials should have clarity in this regard,” the CEO said.

“As many as two units have been established under the Gobardhan scheme in Beltangady and Kadaba taluk. Now we are planning to implement the same scheme in Baddagannur in Puttur taluk. We have done the DPR under the cost of Rs 11.93 lac. The approval will be given,” said the project officer Naveen.

Agriculture department’s Kempegowda and others were present.
