Sullia, Jul 15: Two younger brothers stabbed their elder brother to death over property dispute on Friday at Kudrepaya of Chembu village in Madikeri.

Usman (65) is the deceased. He was stabbed by his younger brothers Rafeeq and Sattar. After stabbing both the accused are said to have gone to Sullia in an auto-rickshaw.

Ibrahim Haji, father of the three brothers had bought 50 acres of agricultural land at Kudrepaya many years ago. After his death his elder son Usman used to look after property. Ibrahim has seven sons and three daughters. There was dispute among brothers who accused that elder brother Usman has got more share.

It is said that survey work was carried out at the said property on Friday. After completing the work, the officials were standing at a distance when argument ensured between Usman, Rafeeq and Sattar. Both Rafeeq and Sattar stabbed Usman and escaped in an auto-rickshaw.

Madikeri DySP Sunderraj and CI, SI and Sampaje police visited the spot and are investigating further.
