Mangaluru: Journalist Vasant Konaje's mother Ratnamma Gatti passes away

Mangaluru (RBI), Jul 15: Journalist Vasant Konaje's mother Ratnamma (83) passed away on Friday July 14 at her home after a brief illness. She was originally from Panemangaluru Panolibailu Bollai Konaje Kodipada wife of the late Narayan Gatti.

She left behind her children Bhavani, Girija, Parvathy, Naveen Konaje (professor, Government First Grade College Mangaluru), Prabhavathi, Vanajakshi (principal, Hira College Babbukatte), Vasanth Konaje (reporter Udayavani Ullal), daughter-in-law Lavisha, sons-in-law Aitappa Gatti Kuttaru, Narayana Gatti Thokkotttu, Satish Mangalore, and Vijay Kumar Someswara. She is survived by his brother Gangaiah Gatti Bhatnagar and a large family.

The family said that the funeral will take place today (Saturday) afternoon. Karnataka State Working Journalists Association, Dakshina Kannada. Working Journalists Association president Shrinivasa Nayaka Indaje, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra state president Rons Bantwal, office bearers and all members of Ullal taluk, Ghadinada journalists, Manjeshwar, and many more associations have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to Ratnamma's death.
