Mangaluru, Jul 15: The KSRTC responded to the tweet of a student highlighting the harassment by their bus driver and conductor, who were not providing stop near his educational institution and instructed its staff to stop the vehicle at the designated stop.

A student in his Twitter account wrote the ordeal of many students because of the harassment meted out by the said KSRTC bus conductor.

A private technical education institute is situated at Valachil on the outskirts of the city on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway. Thousands of students study in that institution. Students coming from Puttur-Dharmasthala areas depend on the KSRTC buses. The student said in his tweet that bus conductor does not provide stop near the college and goes straight ahead.

The divisional coordinator of Mangaluru KSRTC responded to the tweet and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to the lacklustre attitude of their staff. In addition, instructions are given to driver and conductor to provide stop near the said educational institution.

Good they acted immediately. Not only acting on someones complain ,KRTC management should also take driver and condector to task.Otherwise everybody is dancing over their head also is not good.A warning also is not bad to driver and conductor. They should also sometimes take problems of students or travellers to heart.Through them they are earning their bread.

I have seen students on this stretch struggling to board buses from Mangalore to B C Road (especially on this stretch) to travel long distances. As private buses have limited access beyond Mangalore metropolis, the KSRTC management can gain leverage and usher a new era by adhering to complaints of commuters and introduction of new stops thereby breaking the back of private buses mafia who control command in the areas beyond Mangalore jurisdiction limits.
