New Delhi, Jul 29: An aircraft maintenance engineer of SpiceJet and two technicians have been de-rostered after a SpiceJet plane brushed past a parked IndiGo aircraft at the IGI Airport here early on Thursday July 28 causing structural damage to the latter.

As both the aircrafts had no passengers in them, no one has been injured. However, both the planes have been grounded.

The right side of the IndiGo aircraft fuselage was hit by the SpiceJet plane that was taxiing out damaging the flight recorder access door area. A 'follow-me vehicle', which was on patrol duty, saw the accident and rushed to the bay.

The matter has been reported to the directorate general of civil aviation. Officials at the directorate general of civil aviation said the aircraft must have scraped the parked plane while technicians lost control of it when reversing.
