Assistant Commissioner of Customs is IRS linked Post. Mr. Nayak might have opted to live independently for a more relaxed and not to give-in to the dictates of his children. Internal matters in a family are known only within the family circle. All comments fro readers are only hypothetical conclusion. Better to close this chapter.

No one can predict how the end comes to individual life.... As Shakespeare rightly said, "life is a drama full of sound and fury signifying nothing". Ultimately we end up being nothing... RIP to the departed soul...

Bro, what you have commented is right; but such a top job holding person should have had a dignified living in old age till the end!

RIP!! Unworthy, ungrateful children might have usurped his money and assets and dumped him to die a lonely death; it's better if such children are not brought into this world!!

Rudolf..how you can tell his children as ungrateful? Do you know his children? What if his children are working outside and what if they might have asked him to stay with them but he has turn down their request? It seems that you are jumping into conclusion very fast without knowing the facts.

Reshmi, an assistant commissioner, the circumstances in which he was living and his lonely death, despite having four children, does not give thought to any other reason other than being deserted! I have, personally, come across many such cases besides reading in the news across the country! BTW, dumping old people after usurping their money and property is very common in this country!!

Rudolf says dumping old aged parents is common in India. Agree that there are many cases like this. But this one you cannot assume that children deserted him. Also what about his wife? She is still alive and why she deserted him? If she can be with her children why not this guy???

His daughter visited him last week means his children did not deserted him. As they visit him regularly it means may be he doesn't want to stay with his children who are settled elsewhere.

No sir , let cannot judge anyone like that . Moreover, the elderly who had lived an independent life with good Job always prefer to live independently ans there are so many examples for that . Our nation will see more of this kind as we prosper economically the needs are more and people tend to move on. Every citizens must plan for their old age - no point depending on children or relatives.

Reshmi, here everybody is posting his/her opinion based on personal experience, exposure to current affairs, and wisdom; it is not a final report on the facts! In that your opinion apposing my opinion is also jumping to a conclusion; is it not? BTW, I reiterate once you give your assets to your offsprings when you are alive, be ready to get dumped in some shoddy place living a miserable life when you become a burden in your Twilight years!!

Rudolf...concluding anything without checking facts is not wisdom. It is true that everyone has his/her own opinions. This could have happened or that could have happened. But it is wrong to conclude that his children deserted him.

Rest in peace. Cannot predict what circumstances forced him to stay alone at this ripe old age. In case if he was abandoned by his family members he should have opted to stay in old age home in the company many others with medical care etc.

Agreed. Certain cases children themselves admit their parents to old age homes when they do not want to take care by themselves. Some disappear completely after taking their share by forgetting that they have been taken care and raised by their parents.

Bro; money and property; once it's given into the children's hand when you are alive, then better get ready to live like a beggar in your Twilight years! BTW, 90% of the deceased parents children siblings fight like cats and dogs for the property and money; some instances immediately after the last rites! Believe me I am speaking from personal experience!!

Rudolf R:Mumbai, there are two sides .One side is old aged people dont want to stay with their children too .They dont want to be monitored by their children ,other side children too sometimes dont want them with them ,since I personally seen .when their sophisticated relatives come ,old man or woman has to remain in her room ,not come out or talk to them .she or he must listen to them.Which parent want to be treated like this?Definately not me.God knows what was his situation we dont know.May his soul rest in peace. And daughter says she visited him last week must be a lie.Decomposed body needs not one week ,but atleast two week ?
