Mangaluru, Jul 18: Leopard honeycomb eel also known as Moray eel (Aroli Meenu in Kannada), which lives on the bottom of the sea, is found at beach of Guddekopala sea.
In Tulu language this fish is called 'Maranji Meen'. Though it looks like a fish that is grown in aquarium, it grows long as a snake. As it is slightly poisonous, it is not eaten by locals of coastal region.
This fish hides itself below the rocks in the sea and eat smaller fish for survival. A three to four feet long fish was found in Guddekopala. Local resident Anupama Shivaram noticed and inform that matter to media.
According to Rohit Mendon Kodavoor, this fish falls into the net very rarely. It lives only near the rocks and its teeth are sharp.
