Udupi: MBA, BSc Nursing courses to start from 2023- 24 at SMVITM campus

Udupi, July 19: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) promoted by Shri Sode Vadiraja Matha located at Bantakal, Udupi, is going to start new courses in the campus from the new
academic year of 2023–24.

Addressing a press meet at the campus, Rathnakumar, secretary of Institutes said the institution was happy to announce the starting of the new courses from the new academic year with the aim of getting autonomous institution
status by the year 2028.

From 2023–24 year onwards at SMVITM in addition to the existing 4-year BE courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning has also received permission from AICTE to start a new PG programme in Management (MBA) for which the institute has already created required facilities and infrastructure.

The institute has also identified experienced faculty members to lead the programme with industry and academic experience.

Nursing and Allied Health programmes launched

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi under the aegis of Shri Vishnumoorthy Hayavadana Swami Education Society established two new institutes namely Niramaya College of Nursing and Niramaya College Allied Health Sciences, Udupi from this Academic year of 2023-24, in beautiful campus situated at Bantakal, around 13 kms from Udupi.

With this newly launched programme, the youths of the neighbouring regions can aspire to lead fulfilling careers as nurses and Allied health professionals in the field of healthcare.

Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji, the founder of these institutes, has expressed his pleasure at the accomplishment of his vision coming to light - the dream towards the establishment of Madhwa University in the next few years.

Courses offered

The Niramaya College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences are affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru (RGUHS). The 4-year BSc programne (3 years + 1 year of internship) with Nursing has been approved by the Karnataka Nursing Council. Admissions are purely through UG CET scores.

Three allied health programmes have been launched - Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) and Anesthesia & Operation Theater Technology (A&OTT). These are 4-year BSc courses focusing on 1-year internship and 3-year curriculum.

There is no requirement for UGCET for Allied Health Admissions. However, there is a minimum requirement of 50% in PCB and English too and 45% for SC/ST/OBC Category 1 Karnataka students.

SMVITM Bantakal is progressing in the avenue of success. The institute is accredited with 'A' grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Two programmes of SMVITM have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation New Delhi. These two accreditation status are awarded after assessing the quality of education being offered by the institution.

It is worth noting that SMVITM is the only institution in the coastal Karnataka region to bag these two prestigious accreditation in just 11 years of being in existence. These recognitions reflect the quality of education being given to the students and thereby its commitment towards providing holistic education to its students.

In this press meet, secretary of the Institutes Sri Rathnakumar, governing council member Harish Belman, newly appointed principal of Niramaya Nursing College Dr. Flavia Castelino and principal of Nirmaya College of Allied Health Science, Dr. Naveen Ballal, principal of SMVITM Dr. Thirumaleshwar Bhat and administrative officer, Vidya Bhat were present.

    People, Harish Belman's father was my Math's and Science teacher in Belman High School....one of the best and dedicated teacher I have ever seen....perhaps responsible for success of many students of Belman of his time ....I wish today's teachers show same dedication and hard work...I still remember him cleaning black board by side of his hand...because Government was not supplying dusters to Government Schools...Tak...Takk..
