Kundapur: Lokayukta DySP suffers cardiac arrest while playing badminton, succumbs

Kundapur, Jul 21: Arun B Naik (56), a native of Uttara Kannada district, who was serving as DySP at Vijayapura, died of cardiac arrest while playing badminton on July 19. He is survived by wife and son.

Arun Naik collapsed while playing badminton in the Vijayapura district indoor stadium on Wednesday evening.

He was admitted immediately to a private hospital. However, he succumbed late in the night.

Naik had won recognition for his excellent work as sub-inspector of Brahmavar and circle inspector of Byndoor. In addition, he also served in various places of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

At present, he was deputed as DySP of Vijayapura.
