Mangaluru, Jul 21: In regards to create awareness on Prevention of Substance abuse and Anti-ragging, a programme was organised at Yenepoya Institute Of Arts Science Commerce And Management (YIASCM), Kulur in association with Prevention of Substance Abuse Cell and Anti-ragging cell on July 19.
Resource person Mallikarjuna Biradar, sub inspector of police, Kavoor Police station addressed the second and final year students regarding the consequences of Substance abuse and ragging.He specially mentioned that ragging is a criminal offence which can be sentenced for seven years of imprisonment. He also advised the students to support the law enforcement system by providing information of the incidence happening around.
Dr Jeevan Raj, vice principal enlightened the students with his presidential address. Convenors Jince Joseph, ‘Centre for Prevention of Substance Abuse’ and Deepika K, ‘Anti-ragging cell’ were present during the event. Shahid, HOD of Commerce and Neekshitha, HOD of management were also a part of the session. Emcee for the session was Hrishika S Warrier and vote of thanks was given by Saphalya Sandeep, students, department of forensic science.
Approximately 300 students were engaged in the session.
