Nandini milk price to be increased by Rs three per litre from Aug 1

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 22: The state government has given the go ahead to increase the price of Nandini milk by Rs three per litre from August 1.

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has placed a proposal to increase the price of milk by Rs five per litre. However, chief minister Siddaramaiah agreed to Rs three hike. KMF president Bheema Naik said that the hiked amount of Rs 3 should go to the milk producers. Siddaramaiah held a meeting with all the milk federations in the state and president of the KMF.

KMF president Bheema Naika, cooperative minister K N Rajanna, animal husbandry minister K Venkatesh, N Prasad, Salma Fahim and Jagadish were present.

People who compare milk with petrol are absolutely stupids.. consumption vs transportation.. petrol is imported and milk is produced here locally. Please find better reasons to convince yourself so that you won' feel guilty about your favourite political party.

I was not happy with the previous Karnataka BJP administration. However, I am even more disappointed with the freebies introduced by Congress and burden on the tax payers. That said, I am sure Congress will use this election winning formula during next year's general election. If those freebies are granted at the national level, India's growth story will come to a halt within couple of years, you will see high inflation, shortages in essential goods and services throughout the nation, there will be less money for infrastructure development, less defense spending, less money to railways improvement and so on. History has shown that practicing socialism will not lead to prosperity of a nation. Wealth is created due to investments and more job opportunities. Hope, Indian voters will retain NDA instead of yielding to short-term gains of freebies.

IMHO, there was no other option left to save Nandini from closing down permanently as milkmen had stopped supplying milk at Nandini's procurement rate because of high input costs!!

Weren't you all so supportive when Amith Shah proposed merger of Amul with Nandini ?? That is when we got to know that Nandini is sold cheaper than Amul. Had the merger had taken place, do you think Nandini could have remained at same rate ? Now endure it. You begged for the rise !
