Kundapur, Jul 23: Deputy superintendent of police Belliappa has addressed the viral videos and photos circulating on social media, claiming that attempts were made to kidnap children in the Koteshwara and Kalavara areas, under the jurisdiction of Kundapur police station. DySP Belliappa clarified that these rumors are far from the truth.

He reassured the public that the Kundapur city police station personnel promptly took action to track the vehicle that was alleged to belong to child lifters, and appropriate measures have been taken. He urged people to contact 112 in case of any information or to approach the nearest police station.

In another case, a video showing children being enticed with toys, which also went viral on social media, has been deemed false. The police promptly contacted the person seen in the video and upon inquiry, it was found that he was merely a toy seller with no ulterior motives. Inspector Nandakumar of Kundapur city police station requested the public to contact the police in case of any suspicion or concerns.
