Mangaluru: Heavy rains, gutsy winds uproot trees in Kottara

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Due to gusty winds and heavy downpour, the trees at Dadakad in Kottara were uproooted, transformed and completely damaged on Sunday, July 23, early in the morning.

Mescom and the fire fighting force were on their toes who cleared the road with the help of locals and by midnight Mescom was able to replace and restore the transformers and power supply.



 


















 

The trees were also uprooted at the nearby residential complexes damaging thier compound walls and residents had a tough time.The roof sheet  of an apartment was severely damaged and luckily there were no casualties reported.

The local corporator was coordinating with various departments in carrying out relief measures.
