Mangaluru: One arrested in Matka gambling case, cash recovered

Mangaluru, Jul 23: A matka gambling case has been registered at South Police Station under Crime No. 106/23, Section 78(3) of the Karnataka Police Act. Acting on credible information, the South Police Station conducted a raid at Mangala General Store near Marlami Katte.

During the raid, one individual identified as Pushparaj Shetti, aged 47, and a resident of Yekkur village, was apprehended while being involved in matka gambling. The police seized an amount of Rs 300 and a matka statement from his possession.

The authorities are actively investigating the case to ensure appropriate legal action is taken against the accused. Matka gambling remains a concern in the area, and the police continue their efforts to curb such illegal activities.
