Bantwal: Heavy rains, winds cause widespread damage to properties in villages

Bantwal, Jul 23: Heavy rains accompanied by winds continued to damage the taluk causing huge losses.

Kamal's house at Bolmar in Salethtur village of the taluk was partially damaged.A tree fell on Rama Belchada's house in Aalika of Vitla Hobali causing partial damage, but it was cleared and there was no danger.

Similarly, a tree fell on the house of Gopal Krishna Nameda of the same village, and there was partial damage, but there was no loss of life. In Arimajalu of Baltila village, a house next to Sundari's house has also been partially damaged. However, no loss of lives were reported.

A walnut tree fell on the house of Chandrasekhara Gowda at Avetti Kallu in Vitla Kasaba village and partially damaged it. A tree fell on the house of Pushpa in Malabe of Devasyapadur village partially damaging the roof.

A tree also fell on Venkappa Mulya's house in Kadeshivalaya village, causing partial damage. A tree fell on Bifathima's house of B Muda village causing  damage.

A release from the taluk administration said that the house of Vinuta at Seva in Mudupadakodi village was also partially damaged in a landslide.
