Kasargod, Jul 24: A six-member team who went to the tourist spot of Bekal Fort was manhandled by a gang of four on Sunday evening at Melparamba.

Police arrested Abdul Mansoor (41), Abdul Khader Afeeq (37), Mohammed Nisar (38), and B K Arif (32).

The six-member tourist team had gone to Bekal Fort and one of them was celebrating his birthday. After sightseeing, when the team was returning, they were waylaid by a gang near Melparamba.

The six member team comprised three boys and three girls. When they went to have food in a hotel at Melparamaba, the four-member gang behaved indecently with them. They did not even allow the gang members to get down from their vehicle and assaulted them.

Police who rushed to the spot after locals alerted them arrested four people. The girls who were in the car were let off after calling their parents. Many sections of IPC like assault, attempt to outrage modety etc were slapped on the arrested.
