Mangaluru: Two strangers divert attention of woman in car; steal cash, valuables

Mangaluru, Jul 25: Two strangers diverted the attention of a woman inside the car and stole cash and other valuables near PVS Circle in the city on Monday July 24.

A woman was sitting inside the car in front of Laxminarayana temple near PVS Circle at around 10.30 am of Monday and was speaking to service centre people. A stranger arrived on the left side of the car and dropped a currency note of Rs 10 and said that her money has fallen. When she was picking the note, he said that the same currency note has fallen on the right side of the car also.

When the woman looked to the right, one more stranger took Rs 20000 cash from the driver’s seat, credit card, key bunch and bag containing records and escaped from the spot.

A case is registered in Kadri police station.

    Con men are universal and have been there from long long back... Dropping a few bucks and falsely alerting the gullible is an age old technique and unfortunately the woman had no suspicion... May be because they may have told money is fallen and not specifically 10 rupees... Moreover after picking 10 rupees note she should have realized it would be a trap... Guys will be eventually caught with the help of online search of mobile tracks n CCTV trails... But by then most valuables may have disappeared in thin air....
