Mangaluru lad Jason Saldanha shines in Thailand Rally Championship once again

Mangaluru, Jul 25: Jason Deepak Saldanha, a native of the city won second in 2WD overall and second in RC 2.1 at the Thailand Rally Championship. The event was held at Lop Buri in Thailand on July 22-23.

Jason Saldanha, originally from Mangaluru and now a coffee planter from Sakleshpur was accompanied by his co-driver Thimmanna Uddapanda from Ammathi, Coorg.

This was the 3rd round of Thailand Championship. Out of 65 participants in all categories, the duo was placed second in 2WD overall and second in RC 2.1class and 4th overall.

As of now, Jason and Thimmanna are leading the championship in both RC 2.1 category as well as overall 2WD and running 3rd in the overall championship.

The next round (round 4) will be the last round held at Kanchanaburi province on September 16-17 in Thailand.

Jason now resides at Doddalakunda at Belur in Hassan. He had secured his BCom degree from St Aloysius College Mangaluru. After his graduation, he completed his studies in accounting in Australia. Basically, he is a coffee planter.
