Puttur, Jul 25: National Disaster Response Force Mangaluru, and Regional Rescue Centre, Bengaluru, under the joint auspices of Post Graduate Department of Social Work and Post Graduate Department of Commerce, St Philomena College, Puttur conducted environmental protection programme by planting saplings around the college stadium recently.
The programme was led by team commander Shiva Kumar, 10/BN National Disaster Response Force Mangaluru, Regional Rescue Centre, Bengaluru. Principal of the college Dr Antony Prakash Montero presided over the programme said that involving with the NDRF in tree plantation programme in the campus brings him immense pleasure as the youth in NDRF are renowned for professionalism, indomitable bravery, compassion and empathy. He also said greenery in the campus brings in positive vibes thereby providing a serene study friendly atmosphere. Saplings were planted around the stadium with the cooperation of the students and commanders.
Commanders of National Disaster Response Force, students of post graduate center and the faculty participated in this programme.
