Mangaluru, Jul 27: “After several days, police have taken up a suo moto case over the Udupi college washroom video incident. The superintendent of police is giving silly statements on the issue,” said BJP district president Sudarshan Moodbidri.
Addressing a press meet here on July, Thursday 27, he said, “The BJP unit of Dakshina District condemns the incident. The state government is silent on this matter due to appeasement. The government should form a separate investigation team to probe this issue.
“I doubt that this incident may lead to incidents like ' The Kerala Story'. The police have failed to register an FIR at the right time.
“The BJP will hold a massive protest at 10:30 am on July 31,” he said.
He also alleged that there are some unseen hands behind the incident.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, “Though the incident took place several days ago, the police registered an FIR recently. The Congress government is trying to close the case.”
Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty was also present.
