Udupi, Jul 28: The BJP party on Friday July 28 staged a massive protest over the incident over three Muslim girls who allegedly filmed a Hindu girl student in a college restroom.

A rally was held from the Udupi district BJP office Kadiyali to Udupi police superintendent office at Bannaje.

As a security measure, huge number of police have been deployed in the city.

Speaking to reporters, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna said, “I suspect PFI links in the case. After the ban on PFI, we doubt that a PFI women's wing has become active. These students might be a part of this operation. I do not trust the investigation carried out by the state government. They should hand over the case to the central government and a detailed investigation or joint investigation with the state government should be conducted.

“Our state chief minister and home minister are acting like mute and deaf and also like they support the Jihadis. Home minister Parameshwar said that the incident was a childish act. Today, they have kept a camera in the washroom, but tomorrow they can plant anything. The administration needs to undertake proper investigation and the culprit needs to be brought before the judiciary. We have to be alert about these ‘Hijabdaris’. We need to work more to bring such incidents to light," he said.

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Ganthehole said, “I will give a free advice to the Congress. Political protests and protest for Hindu religion are different. Only organizations can fight for justice for all the Hindus who are in other parties. Give a free hand to Udupi police. The SP here is young and energetic. He must be allowed to tackle this situation. When NCW member Khushbu Sundar visited Udupi initially, misleading information was given to her. She was told that the incident was a pre-planned prank and there was no hidden camera.”

Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kundapur MLA Kiran Kodgi, former MLA K Raghupati Bhat, district BJP president Suresh Nayak Kuilady, BJP leaders Uday Kumar Shetty, Mattar Ratnakar Hedge, and other BJP leaders of the district took part in the protest.

Nobody else has seen the video except the BJP. If there is a video let them give to the police and let them investigate the case.

BJP is hating Muslims and minorities. They lost power in KARNATAKA and they don't have 40% commission and related work. They are using this school incident for their publicity. In Manipur hundreds of women have been raped, tortured and killed BUT BJP MEMBERS N LEADER'S ARE SILENT AND ALSO MAUN MODI. DOUBLE STANDARS FOR MINORITIES!!!???

It is a known fact that a few fanatics on both sides hate each other. But why should these girls invite trouble by filming their fellow student in washroom? What is their motive? It’s highly unethical even to do it just for fun.

Headless chicken, dancing to their hidden masters tunes. Guys why don't you march towards Manipur? Your presence and agitation is required there for justice to be served to countless victims and their families. Don't simply time pass here.

They need something to time pass and be in lime light. Therefore, appears like creating these non issues out of nothing. Law and order machinery should act strictly against them and teach them how to behave.

Shame on you jobless people. I do not see any rallies condemning the violence in Manipur (including the atrocities on women) by these people and their leaders. Who is behind the violence in Manipur? Andh-Bakhts can put forward their version. Also, if you guys are against crime against women, then please go and fight for justice for Soujanya.

I see lot of comments why people of Mangalore not protesting for Manipur incident? Did Manipur people protested for Soujanya case? Or any other incident related to Mangalore? there is massive protest going on in Manipur after incident became public and I'm sure they will fight until justice is prevailed . As a Mangalorean's we should prioritize our problems and protest for it. I want to ask people who are commenting ''why you are not protesting for Manipur case''????? why Karnataka congress not protesting for it? If you concerned about manipur girls go out and protest instead of putting your comments here which is of no use.

Good for the best opposition party in our country. Why no protests against inhumane treatment of women, children and pogrom of 100s to 1000s displaced in Manipur? Are they not our brothers and sisters? When people have booted out for corruption and spreading of hatred how shameless vulture like behaviour suits our twin districts? Unless BJP does fight for real issues and takes any issues based on communal agenda it won't regain power in any states or country. Arrogance and hatred have no long-term future in any country.

Udupi is the very place from where Hijab controversy was aroused too. Blind in hatred, these people have no protest about Manipur or Sowjanya. Dipped in communal instigation. If the recording party was Hindu girls, would you have asked them to be punished ? Biased people. We all do mistakes in our young age. Reprimand and move on. Don't drag to no end. We need harmony, not animosity in our society.
