Chitradurga, Jul 28: Getting labourers to remove weeds grown in the midst of crops is difficult these days. A farmer of Sanikere village of Challakere taluk of the district has come up with an idea to do the work of weed removal himself.
This farmer has used an old unused bicycle and converted it into an automatic machine to remove weeds. He said that if he brings bullocks to till the land he has to pay Rs 3500 towards rent. So he has been using this bicycle for removing the weeds on the pulse farm of the four acres of land which he owns.
This experiment made by Shivaraj is attracting the attention of everyone. He removed the weeds on four acres of his farmland in just four days. Now many farmers want to use the same bicycle.
