Mangaluru: Two youths meet watery grave while swimming in Alape Padpu

Mangaluru, Jul 30: A devastating incident occurred at Alpe Padpu in KTPS limits, where two individuals lost their lives due to drowning on Sunday, July 30.

The victims have been identified as Vikshith (28), son of Shekar and Varun (26), son of Vijay.

According to reports, the two young men were enjoying a swimming session in the Alape area, which is railway property. However, an unforeseen tragedy struck, leading to their unfortunate demise. Despite the brave efforts of some of their friends who jumped in to rescue them, they were unable to save Vikshith and Varun from drowning.

Following the incident, the bodies of both victims were recovered from the water and promptly shifted to the mortuary for further procedures. The authorities have registered a case (UDR) and commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
