Kadaba: Accused sentenced to 3.5-year jail term in minor girl sexual harassment case

Kadaba, Aug 2: The Puttur court has sentenced Rajik of Kuntooru, an accused in a sexual harassment case of a minor girl to a jail term.

In 2012, Rajik was accused of sexually harassing a minor girl and was arrested. Later, he was released on bail but had gone absconding and had also avoided attending court hearings pertaining to the case.

The court issued an arrest warrant and the Kadaba police had arrested Rajik and produced him in the court about four months ago. He was remanded to judicial custody until the case was heard.

The Puttur 2nd ACJ and JMFC court judge Yogendra Shetty sentenced accused Rajik to three years and six months of imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs 1,500. Kavitha argued the case as an assistant public prosecutor in favour of the minor girl.
