Beltangady, Aug 3: Police personnel have been deployed in many places of the Charmadi Ghat, especially near the waterfalls. As there is incessant rainfall, there are many streams flowing between the rocks on the ghat section. Several tourists traveling on Charmadi Ghat are ignoring safety norms, climbing the rocks, and creating impediments for the easy flow of traffic by stopping their vehicles on the road.

The cops were assigned duty after the measure came into existence on Wednesday, August 2.

The administration has also displayed cautionary boards in a few places about the danger.

As there is heavy rainfall, there are several waterfalls in the ghat in between the lush green nature on the ghat. Hence, several tourists stop their vehicles on the road and enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. These streams are beautiful, but also dangerous and slippery.

Several years ago, a youth climbed the rocks during the rainy season and met a tragic death.
