Udupi: Priestly Ordination of Fr Noel Lewis at Sasthan

Udupi, Aug 3: Bishop Yakob Mar Iraneous of Kochi metropolitan diocese, ordained Fr Noel Lewis during the Holy Mass held at St Thomas Orthodox Church, Sasthan here on Tuesday August 2.

In his homily he said that as priests, one need to understand their mission very well. Taking the oath as a servant of God is to serve the people of community. Fr Noel is brilliant and talent and would serve the people of community really well, he opined.


Yakob Mar Elias, Bishop of Brahmavar metropolitan diocese, Ramban Fr G M Skariah, vicar general of S M S Cathedral, Brahmavar, Fr Varghese, Fr David Crasta, Fr Lawrence D’souza, Fr TM Kuriakose, Fr Abraham Kuriakose, Fr Ashwin Fernandes, Fr Anish, Fr M C Mathai, priest from Mumbai and Kochi Diocese were present during the holy Mass. 

After the holy Mmss a small felicitation ceremony was organized.  Fr M C Mathai said that Fr Noel Lewis was a brilliant and talented student during his Theological studies at Nagpur Seminary. May he continue his work and mission in the same way all of the community members get the maximum benefits from his talents, he wished.

Fr TM Kuriakose said that becoming priest is God’s Wish. Today because of God’s Grace and blessing Fr Noel had been ordinate in front all of us. We need to respect him and co-ordinate with him which would help him to the serve the people in a better manner, he added.

Fr David compered the programme. Fr Noel thanked all the people for their support and prayers.   Fr Noel Lewis is the son of Gregory and Gretta Lewis couple, and brother of Samuel Lewis, Selvin Lewis residing in Pirody village near here.
